
Dateline: Saturday, March 1, 1986. While the Maulers contained the previously uncontainable Herschel Walker, they still came up on teh losing end. Doug Flutie and the New Jersey Generals buried the Pittsburgh Maulers on Saturday afternoon. Flutie threw for 277 yards and 4 touchdowns against the Maulers.
Pittsburgh showed some signs of life, scoring two quick touchdowns to tie the game at 21. But, New Jersey capitalized on two untimely Pittsburgh turnovers. They closed out the game with 17 straight points to seal the win.
Pittsburgh tries to stop the bleeding against Memphis next week.
New Jersey plays in the marquee matchup on Monday night against the Los Angeles Express.
