Dateline: Saturday, March 16, 2025. On a delightful afternoon in Oakland, the home town team treated its fans to a victory over the New Jersey Generals. League leader Herschel Walker was outdueled by Oakland rookie Nuu Faaola on the day. Faaola gained twice as many yards as Walker and scored one of three rushing touchdowns on the day for Oakland.
Flutie tried to make up for the lack of production from Walker, throwing for 4 touchdowns on the day on 20-26 passing. However, two of those incompletions were interceptions. With 2 fumbles as well, New Jersey lost the turnover battle 4-0, and ultimately the game.
New Jersey tries to bounce back next week against Arizona at home. Meanwhile, Oakland travels to Philadelphia.
