Dateline: Sunday, March 24, 1986. Tampa Bay moves to 3-4 on the season with a decisive victory over San Antonio. Behind a solid performance by quarterback John Reaves, the Bandits led throughout the game. 3 field goals for the Bandits kicker/punter Zenon Andrushyshyn rounded out the scoring.
Meanwhile, San Antonio sits at 1-6 and in their familiar spot of the bottom of the Central division. In spite of a single touchdown by Scott Stamper, the Gunslingers were outmatched by the Bandits for the entire game. They will soon need to switch to rebuild mode if things don’t change soon.
Next week, Tampa travels to Jacksonville for a battle of Florida. San Antonio hosts Chicago.
