Dateline: Friday, March 28, 1986. Arizona pulled off a minor upset over divisional rival Oakland on Friday evening in the desert. In spite of a mediocre performance by starting quarterback Jon Carlson, the run game more than made up for it. 209 yards rushing, including 161 from Otis Brown and two touchdowns on the game.
Allan Durden added aan interception return for a touchdown in the first to tie the game. After going down by 4, Arizona scored 18 unanswered points to close out the game. Arizona’s defense held Oakland to under 300 total yards on the game.
Oakland travels to Houston for a tough matchup. Arizona is off to Texas as well to take on the Gunslingers.
