Philadelphia Stars 0, Memphis Showboats 6

Dateline: Saturday, April 5, 1986. Philadelphia and Memphis also struggled on Saturday evening. Similar to the Denver/New Jersey game, neither team topped 300 yards. Philadelphia just barely gained over 200. Unlike the other game, neither team scored a touchdown in the game.

In a season of high scoring and dazzling offenses, the two games on Saturday this week harkened back to the defensive battles of the 1960s and 1970s. Memphis won in spite of Kent Austin throwing two interceptions in the game thanks to a long drive and a timely fumble by Philadelphia.

Philadelphia travels out west to Arizona. Memphis rolls into Jacksonville.
