Dateline: Sunday, March 13, 1986. Fresh off their drubbing of New Orleans last week, Pittsburgh got their second victory with a surprise win in Chicago this afternoon. It loooked like they might not, but new quarterback Mike Tomczak threw a touchdown pass to Greg Anderson (his second of the game) with 2 and a half minutes left in the 3rd quarter.
Chicago quarterback Chuck Long threw two touchdown passes himself. But, in the last three possessions, they missed a field goal, punted, and turned the ball over on downs. For now, the Maulers look to continue to start Tomczak and may have a decision to make in the offseason.
Pittsburgh hosts Washington and Chicago travels to Oklahoma.
