
Dateline: Sunday, April 13, 1986. Washington escaped New Orleans with a win Sunday afternoon. The win puts them at 3-6 on the year with an outside chance at a playoff spot if things break their way. New Orleans led 29-23 halfway through the 3rd quarter before Washington scored two straight touchdowns to pull ahead.
New Orleans then scored with 5:10 left, but they missed the two point conversion to tie. Washington then took the ensuing kickoff and ran out the clock with a 9 play, 68 yard drive. The loss drops New Orleans to 2-7.
Washington visits Pittsburgh next week. New Orleans hosts Tampa Bay.
