Michigan Panthers 9, Birmingham Stallions 31

Dateline: Saturday, April 12, 1986. Birmingham won round 1 of what is sure to be a playoff matchup later in the season. They defeated the Michigan Panthers, handing them their second loss in as many weeks. Birmingham fired on all cylinders in the game, with Stoudt throwing for 290 yards and Cribbs adding 93 on the ground.

The once hot Panthers cooled off big time in this game. With their run game smothered, quarterback Jim Harbaugh found it tough to throw the ball. He went 16 for 44 with 233 yards and one interception. As a result, Michigan managed only 3 Bojovic field goals.

Michigan tries to find their groove again in Washington. Birmingham hosts another tough team in Los Angeles.
