Washington Federals 28, Pittsburgh Maulers 49

Dateline: Sunday, April 20, 1986. Pittsburgh made it three in a row with another strong performance by backup quarterback Mike Tomzcak. With nothing to lose, the Maulers went with Tomczak to see what he might offer. So far, he looks great. Running back Mike Rozier also had a huge game with 133 yards rushing and 2 touchdowns.

Pittsburgh dominated Washington throughout and the Federals just looked outmatched. Mostly, the Federals run game let them down. With only 91 yards, Hohensee needed to pick up the slack. Unfortunately, in this game, he just didn’t have the ability.

Washington hosts Michigan and Pittsburgh tries to keep the winning going against Oklahoma.
