Birmingham Stallions 21, Arizona Wranglers 11

Dateline: Saturday, May 9, 1986. Birmingham took care of business Saturday afternoon against Arizona. Not a particularly flashy win, they let their defense handle the Wranglers offense and scored just enough to secure the win. Joe Cribbs, who’s been averaging a mind blowing 8 yards per rush ran for 103 on only 13 carries and scored a touchdown in the win.

Arizona, meanwhile, struggled to run. Their leading rusher, Otis Brown, gained half that yardage on the same amount of rushes. Quarterback Jon Carlson also struggled, throwing two interceptions in the game. Even kicker Luis Zendejas had his troubles, connecting on only one of his three field goal attempts.

Birmingham hosts New Orleans. Arizona welcomes Denver.
