Jacksonville Bulls 45, Las Vegas Ace 21

Dateline: Friday May 15, 1986. Jacksonville cooled off red hot Las Vegas Friday night. In fairness, Las Vegas was without their wunderkind quarterback Randall Cunningham. Citing an abundance of caution, Ace coach Harvey Hyde started backup Sean Salibury instead. This hurt the passing game, but especially their run game. Lavale Thomas gained only 26 yards, 18 of them on one touchdown.

Meanwhile, Jacksonville rushed for 260 yards, including 175 and 3 touchdowns by Larry Mason. Ed Luther threw a touchdown pass, Reggie Butts returned a punt 54 yards and John L. Williams added another rushing touchdown in the game. The win brings the first place Bulls to 10-3.

Jacksonville travesl to Denver. Vegas hosts Birmingham.
