Dateline: Sunday, May 18, 1986. Birmingham brutally took care of business Sunday afternoon against New Orleans. They went up 38-0 before the Brass even scored. They then added two more touchdowns before cruising to the victory. Quarterback Cliff Stoudt threw for 387 yards and 5 touchdowns in the game.

His counterpart, Rusty Hilder, threw for 3 touchdowns himself. However, the Birmingham defense harrassed him into 6 interceptions. New Orleans run game again didn’t help much, with their leading rusher gaining only 27 yards and the team combining for 60.
