Dateline: Sunday May 16, 1986. Michigan won a shootout in the Silverdome Sunday afternoon, defeating Oklahoma. They went up 24-0, 38-7, and 52-10 before Oklahoma fought back with 3 touchdown, including one in the closing minute to make the score slightly more respectable. Bobby Hebert continued to play well for the resting Harbaugh, throwing for 5 touchdowns in the game.

Oklahoma quarterback Rick Johnson threw 3 touchdowns in the loss. He also threw one interception, that turned into another touchdown for Michigan. The Outlaws were simply outmatched. Michigan gained 567 yards of offense and held the ball for almost 42 minutes in the game.

Michigan has a bye next week. Oklahoma travels to New Jersey.
