
Dateline: Monday, May 18, 1986. Los Angeles came back from a late deficit to clip Oakland at home and remain in contention for the West division lead. Oakland led 16-14 into the fourth quarter before Eric Dickerson scored a touchdown and followed it with a 2 point conversion. The touchdown was Dickerson’s second. He caught a pass from Seurer in the first quarter.
Oakland played well, but they couldn’t keep with Dickerson’s domination. He rushed for 186 of LA’s 199 rushing yards in the game. Oakland also scored two rushing touchdowns, but their leading rushers managed only 54 and 53 yards between them. Quarterback Fred Besana also struggled, throwing 2 interceptions in the game.
Los Angeles hosts Boston and Oakland goes to Pittsburgh in another Monday night showdown.
