Dateline: Friday, May 16, 1986. Tampa Bay coasted against the Wranglers on Friday night to try to solidify a playoff spot as the 1986 season winds down into its final quarter. Quarterback John Reeves looked like his old self, throwing 4 touchdowns on the game. Kicker Zenon Andrushyshyn added three field goals to round out the scoring.
Arizona struggled to find the end zone all game, scoring on only 4 Luis Zendejas field goals. Reeves’ counterpart, Jon Carlson struggled on the day. He threw for only 183 yards on 21 completions and a late touchdown after the game was decided.
Arizona stays in Florida to take on Jacksonville next Friday. Tampa hosts Houston in a potentially tough game.
