Deadline: Saturday, May 17, 1986. Chicago won a good old fashioned defensive battle against New Orleans on Saturday afternoon and evening. The defense held New Orleans to only 19 rushing yards in the game. They also only allowed 7 points, a season low for the Brass.
New Orleans quarterback Rusty Hilger couldn’t make up for the lack of a run game. He completed only 19 passes on 47 attempts for 319 yards. Both facets of the offense contributed to the Brass holding the ball for only 22 mintues in the game.
Chicago travels to Birmingham. New Orleans hosts Boston. Both tough games for these teams next week.
