Dateline: Sunday, May 18, 1986. Boston continues to roll by defeating Los Angeles Sunday afternoon to run their undefeated record to 15-0. LA led late into the first half before back up quartterback Shawn Halloran threw a touchdown to put Boston up 17-13. Boston then scored two more touchdowns.
Los Angeles scored again to bring the score within 12. But, the Boston defense held for the remaining 9 minutes of the game, ending LA’s final possessions with interceptions. Los Angeles gained more yards than Boston, but the Breakers kept Eric Dickerson to under 30 yards in the game.
Both teams are on the road next week. Boston in New Orleands and Los Angeles in Pittsburgh.
