Oakland Invaders 37, Washington Federals 20

Dateline: Sunday, May 25, 1986. Oakland came into Washington and handed them a loss. The win puts Oakland at 7-8 and in the thick of it in the competitive West. Oakland won mostly on their defence, holding Washington to less than 100 yards rushing and intercepting the Federals twice in the game.

Washington played well other than the lack of a running game. But, that proved enough to doom the Federals to another heartbreaking loss in a forgettable season. A positive from the game was their backup quarterback Matt Robinson played well.

Oakland returns to California to take on the Express in LA. Washington hosts New Jersey.
