Oklahoma Outlaws 23, Memphis Showboats 17

Dateline: Sunday, May 25, 1986. Oklahoma went into Memphis and stole a win on Sunday afternoon. In spite of being outgained in nearly every category, the Outlaws took advantage of 4 Memphis turnovers to get the win. Quarterback Rick Johnson provided just enough offense to secure the victory.

Two of those turnovers came in their last two possessions when they had the chance to tie or even win the game. Memphis ends the game at 7-9 and with an outside shot at a playoff game. Meanwhile, Oklahoma sitting at 6-10 looks almost guaranteed for the playoffs in the weakened Central division.

Memphis travels to Tampa to fight for the playoffs. Oklahoma welcomes division leading Michigan.
