Dateline: Sunday, May 25, 1986. Birmingham took care of business in New Orleans Sunday afternoon. Joe Cribbs ran all over the Brass defense for 213 yards and 3 touchdowns. Quarterback Cliff Stoudt added two passing touchdowns.
New Orleans got another wasted performance from quarterback Rusty Hilger. He threw for 355 yards and 3 touchdowns to three different receivers. However, his run game managed only 43 total yards. That’s no way to sustain drives and score.
Both teams are at home next week. Birmingham against Jacksonville and New Orleans hosts Memphis.
