Houston Gamblers 28, Chicago Blitz 21

Dateline: Sunday, May 26, 1986. Houston stole a win in Chicago to keep their playoff and their shot at the division title alive. In spite of a rare off game by quarterback Jim Kelly (1 touchdown and 3 interceptions including one returned for a touchdown), the Gamblers showed their championship pedigree and took the win.

It looked somewhat like old times in Chicago. In spite of giving up 457 yards to Houston, the Blitz defense held firm and kept them from scoring more than the 4 touchdowns they got. They played turnovers to their advantage and kept the game tied deep into the 4th quarter.

Houston is at Oklahoma. Chicago hosts Tampa Bay.
