Washington Federals 27, Los Angeles Express 47

Dateline: Sunday, June 1, 1986. Los Angeles finished their year out strong with a convincing win against the Federals Sunday afternoon. They are guaranteed a playoff spot and the third seed in the Western Conference. They will play fellow Pacific team Las Vegas in the first round.

Washington barely avoids the Atlantic basement, beating Pittsburgh by only one game to sidestep that fate. Their 6-12 record is a step in the wrong direction after finally posting a winning record last year. However, they hope to get back that winning form.

Both teams have a bye next week.
