Dateline: Saturday, June 14, 1986. Herschel Walker put on an absolute clinic Saturday afternoon and showed why he’s a former MVP of the league. He rushed 27 times for 222 yards and 3 touchdowns to lead the Generals to victory over the hosting Jacksonville Bulls.
Jacksonville tried to stay with the white hot Herschel. Unfortunately, they just didn’t have enough fire power and fell. In spite of the loss, they finished 1986 with a 13-5 record and hope for the future.
New Jersey travels to Boston with the win next week to take on the undefeated and rarely tested Breakers in week 2.
