Dateline: Sunday, June 15, 1986. Las Vegas and Los Angeles put on a show Sunday evening to close the wild card round of this year’s playoffs. They combined for 90 points and over 900 yards in the game. One man band, Randall Cunningham, threw for 329 yards and 3 touchdowns. He added 41 yards rushing and a touchdown.
Frank Seurer bested him with 474 yards rushing and 5 touchdowns. Eric Dickerson added 111 yards and touchdown himself. The two players proved too much for an overmatched Vegas defense. While the Ace can hold their heads high with their improvement over last year, they have some significant holes to fill for next year.
The Express travel to Houston next week to take on the Gamblers.
