Michigan Panthers 30, Los Angeles Express 13

The Michigan Panthers rolled into Los Angeles and dominated the Express in a 30-13 victory at the LA Memorial Coliseum. Running back Albert Bentley starred for Michigan, accounting for three total touchdowns, including two on the ground. Bentley’s eight-yard touchdown reception in the second quarter set the tone, and the Panthers capitalized on strong defensive play and critical mistakes by the Express, including two interceptions thrown by Steve Young. Michigan’s Novo Bojovic was clutch, adding three field goals, including a 50-yarder that extended their lead to 13-3 in the second quarter.

The game was a tale of missed opportunities for the Los Angeles Express. Despite outgaining Michigan in first downs, the Express struggled to protect Steve Young, who was sacked eight times and consistently pressured by Michigan’s defense. Young showed flashes of brilliance, including a 49-yard touchdown drive capped off by an eight-yard pass to Gordon Hudson in the third quarter, but the offense could not sustain momentum. Tony Zendejas provided a pair of field goals, yet they were unable to keep up with Michigan’s efficient attack.

With Bentley leading the way, the Panthers controlled the clock and limited their mistakes, while Los Angeles faltered in key moments. Bentley’s one-yard rushing touchdown in the third quarter and his four-yard score late in the fourth sealed the win for Michigan. At 3-4, both teams are now locked in the middle of the USFL standings, but this victory provides Michigan a valuable tiebreaker and much-needed confidence heading into the second half of the season.
