Dateline: Friday, April 11, 1986. Las Vegas moved to 5-5 on the season and into the playoff race for the first time in their short history. They survived a scare at home by defeating the Invaders in overtime. Cunningham had a slight off game, throwing for only 2 TDs after his 5 TD performance last week.
He also again led the team in rushing. With Lavale Thomas not finding his feet, Byron Brown picked up the slack. He and Cunningham combined for 113 yards rushing and the other two touchdowns in the game for Vegas.
The Ace are on to Chicago for a Monday night clash. Oakland hosts Jacksonville on Friday night next week.
