Oakland Invaders 24, Los Angeles Express 52

Dateline: Saturday, May 24, 1986. Los Angeles pummeled cross state rival Oakland on Saturday afternoon at home. What started with two Eric Dickerson touchdown runs became a 31-0 lead before Oakland even scored. Los Angeles scored twice on interceptions returns by David Martin and Wymon Henderson. While Oakland eventually cut the lead to just two touchdowns, it proved to be too little, too late. They put 24 points on the board but LA just continued their onslaught. Quarterback Fred Besana threw their only 2 touchdowns. He added 4 interceptions including the two returned for touchdown. Oakland is on the outside looking in with a 7-9 record.

Los Angeles hosts Washington. Things don’t get any better for Oakland, who host division leading Denver.
