Issue #86.2: March

Hello Brass Enthusiasts!

Season So Far: After two blowout losses, the Brass found their footing against the Oklahoma Outlaws to get their first win of the season. In a shootout against the Outlaws, the Brass outscored them 43-41. Shane Swanson had one of the best games in Brass history running for 70 yards and a touchdown to complement QB Rusty Hilger’s 5 touchdowns. The Brass look to build on this momentum.

Player Spotlight: Gregg Carr, OLB. Carr came to the Brass from Las Vegas during the offseason. He’s paid immediate dividends on the defense. He leads the league with 33 tackles. He also added 1 stuff, 1 forced fumble, and 2 passes defended. If they find some other playmakers to put around him, look out for this defense going forward.

Upcoming Games:

  • March 2: at Memphis Showboats. The Brass look to follow up on their first win of the season with their first road win. With Memphis struggling, the Brass can potentially improve to 2-2.
  • March 9: Michigan Panthers. The Panthers look tough this season with Jim Harbaugh revitalizing the team. But, they’re coming to our house and we need to defend our house.
  • March 16: at Jacksonville Bulls. An important division game that could go a long way to determining standings and, dare we say it, playoff seeding. Maybe too early for that.
  • March 23: at Los Angeles Express. Another game against a current division leader and potential playoff team.
  • March 30: at Pittsburgh Maulers. The Maulers lost Brian Sipe and lost their soul. A good way to end out the road trip with a win and come back to a rocking Superdome!

Our thoughts: Only Michigan and Los Angeles look like tough games. With this recent success, the Brass could win 3 out of 5 and come back home with a decent record.
