In spite of an offense that managed just over 250 yards total and 13 first downs, the Gunslingers pulled out the victory. Quarterback Rick Neuheisel, who has indicated at wanting a change in the offseason, completed only 9 passes.
Backup quarterback Bobby Hebert, who lost the starting job to the exciting young Jim Harbaugh, threw three interceptions, including a costly pick six in the third quarter. Michigan is left somewhat questioning after a late season swoon.
They have a chance to get back in the win column against Oakland at home next week.
