Oakland Invaders 24, Denver Gold 38

Dateline: Sunday, June 1, 1986. In keeping with the theme, the final Sunday night game of week 19 provided little in the way of drama. Both teams went into the 4th quarter tied at 24. Denver then scored the final two touchdowns of the game to seal the victory.

Oakland finishes one game behind Las Vegas for the third playoff spot in the Pacific, and leaves them with some questions. After an 8-10 season, they need to improve next year. However, with an improved run game and Fred Besana back to his old self, that shouldn’t be an issue.

Denver plays Houston to try to get one last win and prevent the Gamblers from winning their division.
