Introduction
Last time I talked about how wine and binge watches can sometimes end poorly. However, maybe I didn’t watch all 5 episodes that night. Or, maybe the big reveal at the end of this episode snapped me out of my wine haze. Whatever the reason, I remembered that crystal clear. A giant mutated monster will do that to you, I suppose.

THE ALASKAN FRONT (bingo)
Someone in an old Power Armor walks through the snow. It’s Cooper “Fucking thing.” “Chuck, you with me?” “My left arm is locked up.” Trying to get permission to go back, but it’s denied. Cooper: “They said you should turn back. You’re no good in that armor.” “What about you?” “I’ll be right behind you. Go.” Charlie salutes and heads back as Cooper tells him that’s an order. Charlie responds, “You better be right behind me. Barb’ll kill me if I let your ass freeze.”
Scary noises and music. *growling* Cooper is rightly concerned. He backs up. A group of soldiers opens fire on him, blowing out his armor and knocking him over. The soldiers close in on him. Chinese army. They get ready to kill him. “The future is here. We’ll be there soon. They’ll be putting these on us. Rock to spear and so on. When our commanding officers tell us to put these on, we’ll say the exact same thing this poor guy did. Okey-dokey.” Oh shit, waddup, the Deathclaw stalking in the background attacks and fucks up the Chinese soldiers before getting too close to comfort to Cooper. It gets distracted by gunfire and turns away.
… “the island is secure. Congratulations soliders you did it.” Cooper: “We didn’t. It wasn—it wasn’t us. It was something else.” Fade out from Cooper to white.

Thaddeus and Max’s Big Adventure
Pick up with Thaddeus and Max right after Max killed Xander.
Thad: Well I guess we should get back to work. A vertibird in the background. One of the kids jumps. Max looks out.
Max: They tracked me.
Thad: Yeah, good to see you, but you gotta go.
Max exits his armor. Tries to convince Thad to help him because otherwise they will kill half the kids and enlist the rest. Thad is good at running away, though. Max: Sometimes running away is the best thing you can do. Sometimes not.
A Brother meets and confronts Max and asks about Xander. Thaddeus tries to exit the warehouse and keeps bumping his head. He plays the role pretty well. “Let’s get out of this shithole. Dust em up and spit em down.” LOL They get on the Vertibird and take off.
Are You All That’s Left?
Lucy is awakened by metallic clanging. We see that it’s a hastily set up IV. Footsteps approach. Rodrigues: We gave you some meds. You should be must better than when your friend brought you in. I’m not sure friend is the right word.
Rodrigues introduces them as the NCR. Lucy: Is this all that’s left? NCR: No there’s ton of us. Have you seen Shady Sands. That’s where we’re from. Lucy: Sorry. Rodrigues: Man sees the first sign of civiliztion in almost 100 years and burns it all down.
Lucy says she’s looking for someone. Rodirigues: Someone you care about or someone you hate? Ghoul: Oh, that’s a good question. What say you, Miss McLean? Lucy : Someone who hurt a lot of people. Rodrigues: What will you do when you find them? Lucy: I’m going to bring him to justice. R: That’s what the NCR was supposed to be all about. Bringing justice to the wasteland. We almost did. Lucy: I don’t doubt it. Rodrigues offers Lucy supplies because they can’t bring it all.
Lucy take a gun and leaves with the Ghoul. Lucy: They seem nice. Ghoul: You think they’d be nice if they knew what you’re daddy did? Lucy: Wasn’t going to stay if that’s what you’re worried about. All I saw there was more matching jackets.
Ghoul gives a wry grin.
The Budget is Baked into the Charter
Back at 33.
A get together of the in breeding support group. Reg goes to fill the water cooler. Lady: Nice jugs, Reg. LMAO. Uh oh, water rationing and the crops are dying. Betty: Where are you going with that? We can afford to waste precious resources on your little club. Reg: You signed off on our budget. And I’ll have you know my little group is growing every week. Unlike your approval rating. Reg refuses to give. Betty is not happy.

Lucy is complaining of being itchy, heavy, and hungry for not food. The Ghoul remarks that he’s very familiar with that feeling. Am I dying? No, you’re not dying. You’re addicted to drugs. Well then, I hereby quit drugs. What do you have there? Oh, that didn’t take. Still addicted to drugs. You can detox. How long’s that take? Oh about five days. I recommend the alternative. What’s the alternative? Do more drugs. Fudge. But, she takes the drugs.
Max is on a Roll
Vertibird approaches the Brotherhood flying ships.
Max jumps onto the bridge. Dane meets him. “The elder clerics looking for you.” Things were already tense and you disappeared. Thaddeus is bmbling off the ship. Dane: What did you do? Max: The right thing. But now Xander is dead. Max tells Dane to get all the kids. “Why, what are you going to do?” “Kill Quintus.” Thaddeus keeps bumbling
Phase 2
With the Vault 31ers
Eating uncooked pasta and trying to convince themselves its better this way. Mouth feel is excellent. Norm tells them to conserve because they don’t know when they’ll find more food. One of them sees a bridge they drove over before the bombs dropped. Time for Phase 2? Bud’s personal assistant. Norm: So? “Let’s just say I was the guy who took the lunch orders when Bud was meeting with the investors.” “Just the lunch guy but Phase 2 is important to the experiment.” “Lead the way, Ronnie. They walk off.
The Experiment is Over
Woody walks down the cooridor in Vault 33. He’s not sure how to get around. He ends up in Davey’s unit. Davey understands. He accidentally walked into the women’s room. Nobody in there, but if there had been, woo boy.
Betty and Stephanie talking about Norman’s break out. “I found Bud Askin’s upside down in a mop bucket.” Just the two of them. Stephanie is playing hard ball. Betty isn’t having any of it. The baby is all that matters. Betty gets it. The company isn’t coming. All they have is the community. Betty mentions a keepsake box from before the war in exchange for the water. It’s something…personal.
Woody is back in the hallway. He stumbles on their meeting. They vaguely threaten one another. Stephanie leaves with no regard for 33. Vault door closes.

Lucy and The Ghoul. Ghoul sighs “Something’s off.” Lucy: “Expecting the welcoming committee. G: Yes I was. He sees some dudes. “Ah, shit.” “What? What?” She smacks him. Still high on her drugs. “It’s gonna be a little hard to explain. We should go in through the east side of town. Good place for supplies. Half a day detour.” “No,my dad is right there!” The Ghoul stares. “I am done with all of the sidetracks and detours. I say we run on through. Who fudging cares.” “That’s the drugs talking. Truth be told, I like what they’re saying.” The greaser ghouls rise. Lucy tries to talk to him. He advances. She blows off his leg. The Ghoul winks. “Woah.” She likes the power.
Lucy blows the mfers away. One gets the jump on her and she blows his head off. “I’m good for heads” Okey dokey. “I’m good for heads. They’re just ghouls, right?” Maybe not, she blasts the one with the guitar in the head. Gives him a thumbs up. “Got any cigarettes? I’d like to try one.” “One addiction at a time.” She’s got the shakes. They stop at the door.
Civil War Finally Breaks
Back with the brotherhood.
Thaddeus is still in his armor, bumbling. Giving himself a pep talk outloud. “You got this. You are loved.”He gets cut off by one of the elders. She wants to talk to him. He has no choice. Dane is marshalling the kids to safety. Don’t come out until the shooting stops.
Max approaches Quintus, closing the door behind him. “Leave us.” Max waits at attention. “What did you do?” “I killed the emissary from the commonwealth.” He pulls his gun. “And now, you intend to kill me”
Thaddeus and the elder talk. The Coronado chapter steps up and promises Quintus’s head on a spike for 300 fusion cores. They go back and forth. Dane is in the cold fusion room. They look at the fusion. Max aims at Quintus. Quintus promises to bring order, but his heart isn’t in it. Thaddeus is having some trouble. “I think I’m having a panic attack.” “Sounds like a coronary. Just walk it off.” “Let me get your visor.” Thaddeus panics more. Quintus is still talking shit. “What will you do…” “I don’t want that.” “What was your plan?” “I don’t have plans. You have plans. But out there, you can’t. I don’t choose to do the things I do. They just keep happening.” “My son. My son. Tell me what happened?” Max tells him about the kids. They were ghouls. Quintus loses his shit. “I should have never shown mercy to you.” Quintus opens fire.Max returns. Another elder walks in. “The relic was stolen. Coronado starts talking. Yosimite stabs him in the mouth, finally making good on her promise. All hell breaks loose. Max gets away from Quintus and chains the door shut. Dane meets him with the relic. Get this as far away as possible. Why me? Because you’re the only one who’s not an asshole. Thaddeus: “Come on guys. Can we go now?!”
They leave, running through the dunes as the entire thing goes up in flames.
Stephanie’s Secret
Chet sorting laundry. Woody: So… Well, uh, as you know, the Vault Tec blah blah blah inter-vault security should be reported to the Overseer. Stephanie: Did someone? Well, yeah, uh, it appears that you did. You were in the inter vault coridor.That’s only supposed to be for the triennial trades. Steph: Thank you. Woody: I’ve never had to report the violation to the one committing the violation. I will send it to the Overseer. Isn’t that you? Well, that makes it easy, right? I’ll be sure to let you know what my report find. Meanwhile Chet finds Stephanie’s wallet. SHE’S CANADIAN!!!! He’s shook. Woody: Chet? I hope you’re adjusting to all the changes lately. Chet: You know what they say. Wherever you end up it’s where you belong. Stephanie lets Woody out. He follows up on the “Experiment” She assures him it’s just overseer stuff. Chet is still shook.

Night time in New Vegas. The trio makes their way along the strip. Lucy: Aren’t there supposed to be people here? Ghoul: Uh huh. We should go to Freeside.Someone there will be able to tell us what’s going on. Lucy: DAD! Hello! *ominous music* Lucy finds an egg. The Ghoul: Uh..radiation. Lucy: Look at this. How big do the chickens get around here? Ghoul: Those aren’t chickens. Lucy: Well, whatever they are, we can take them. *growling* Oh yeah, we got this. In fact, I think it’ll be easy. The Ghoul isn’t so sure. He’s shook, too. *more low growling* There’s a sillohette in the door. It opens slowly and a claw taps against the frame. Deathclaw rips the doors open. Now, they’re both shook. Doesn’t look so easy anymore. Editorial: Oh damn, that looks cool as hell. Rises up to full height. Lucy is scared shitless: Okey dokey.
