Introduction
Here we are. Season finale for season 2 of Fallout. I was going to call it bittersweet, but it’s just bitter. Okay, that’s not true. But, I am bitter. The episode is actually pretty sweet. It brings some stories to a conclusion while still setting them up for the future. It gives us the possibility of the Legion vs. the NCR. Like I said during the previous episode, this show is so fucking good. I want it to last forever. Just not in real life. Yikes. Sorry for that little reality bleed. Okay, on to the show.

Kaiser is dead. Long life Kaiser
Distant explosions. More. We are with the legion. Someone grabs Kaiser. Oh, it’s Macaulay Culkin’s character. Another joins him. “What’s it say? Who’s the next Kaiser?” He reads the note. Looks concerned. “I am Caesar. I am the Legion. It ends with me.” Oh damn… Kaiser is dead. Long live Kaiser. He stabs the dude. Guess that means he’s gonna be Kaiser? Yep, takes the laurel and wears it. “Kaiser hoo!” The legion cheers. “Together, we will claim the holy land that they call Vegas. There we’ll build a palace worthy of our empire. Kaiser’s palace. Now, to New Vegas.” Hoo ah!
TITLE. Caeser’s Palace in Vegas. Oi vey. LMAO
Everyone Works for Me Eventually
Flying into Vegas. To the Lucky 38. “Well hello, old chum.” House to Ghoul. “What did I tell you when we first met?” “The house always wins. Winning might be overrated, Bob. Because the swimming pools used to be full.” “Well, I must say, it’s good to be alive again. My body became something of a target for wandering travelers to prove a point. I’ve been poisoned, shot, bludgeoned with a crowbar.” The door starts to close. Ghoul stops it with his gun. “Shut the fuck up. The diode.” What about it, old friend? What happens if I shoot this thing? Unclear. There’s only been one of them, so it will be fresh snow from a scientific standpoint. But, if it were to release all of its energy, it would extend to other planets. So, let’s exercise caution. Well, most people ain’t got much to live for anyway. Let’s cut to the chase. Where’s my family? Why didn’t you tell me there was a vault for management in new vegas? Because you hadn’t yet brought me the diode. I’ll tell you what. You get me in that Vault and I’ll let you keep your batteries running. What do you say? We got a deal? Absolutely. But, you will have to wear one of these (pip boy). Like it or not Mr. Howard, everyone works for me eventually.
Max vs. Deathclaws
The Deathclaw is stalking. Max stands up. Thad comes running, holding his gun and arm. He stops when he sees the Deathclaw. Stay behind me, Max says. Go inside. GO, go go! Get inside! Get inside! Come on let’s go. Max squares up. Weapons activated? Hot dog.
They take inside to hide. Max levitates and blows one up. Another one comes for him. Inside Thad says, I wish I could help. One of the citizens replies, you got one arm, what are you gonna do? Well, something. Look at him out there. Nah. More Deathclaws on the way.
Why Does Everyone Always Want Me to Kill Them
Lucy with the mainframe.
She enters the room. Looks very concerned about the technology and this lady’s severed head wired into it. She approaches the head. She looks on the verge of crying. She reaches out. The head gags and gasps. Are you alive? Groaning in response. Okay, so kinda. Kill me. What? Kill me. Oh, please, no. Kill me. No. Kill me. Look, we can patch you up. Maybe. There’s no telling with the miracles of science these days. Kill me. No, stop! Why does everyone always want me to kill them? Kill me. Stop them. Must kill me. Must..kill me..Shut up! She does.
I Guess The Roaches Don’t Really Get That Big
Dragging Norm through the office building. There’s graffiti in the background. Fight Apathy…or don’t. LMAO. They plan to give him a fair trial. This is America after all. They don’t listen to Claudia and throw her so that she hits the elevator button. The elevator opens. One of the Vaulties approaches the open elevator. There’s nothing there. I guess the roaches don’t get that big after—last words. The roaches attack. Everyone scatters. Norm uses a chair as a shield and runs after everyone. They’re all going for a room. Norm saves one of them, who makes it into the room, but they pushNorm out. They try to close the door, but the roaches get in. The door closes behind them. There is blood.
Count It, Losers
| The Ghoul with Pip Boy House: Vault Tec wanted an impenetrable vault. Buried half a mile below the city. But I was always one step ahead. I rigged everything in the city. But I miscalculated because this didn’t belong to Vault Tec. It belonged to their investors. I didn’t believe that anyone could be one step ahead of me until I saw your demon in the snow. Cut to a Deathclaw screaming and attacking. Max cuts its arms off. It bites down on his head. He blows that head off. Shoots and misses another one. Alarms as it approaches. They start to take bets for how long Max will last. Thaddeus throws down his arm to get their attention. 500 says he wins! Those are big odds. He doesn’t have 500 caps. Thaddeus shows them. Count it losers. Okay, here we go. |
Congresswoman Diane Welch. From Glendale
Lucy’s shook after what she just did.
House: When it came to predicting the end of the world, I was only off by a smidge. But, when it came to controlling the future, I was wholly outclasses by an unseen adversary. It was they who set the Deathclaws on Vegas. And now one of their acolytes is here inVegas.
Hank: Why did you do it, Lucy? Robert House wanted to turn human beings into machines. Erase their memories. Make them suggestible enough to follow his orders. You know, Robert was a bit of a robot himself. Who wants to live in a world full of robots. What I was trying to do was add a little personality to his product.
Who was she?
Congresswoman Diane Welch from Glendale. ISTP on the old Myers-Briggs. Which is still the gold standard. Ideal personality type. Well-meaning. Sweet. Non-threatening.
Then, why would you do that to her?
Well, Daddy’s job is complicated.
Robert House: The enclave’s eeys are everywhere. You should know, Mr. Howard. You gave them the diode and unleashed the greatest threat on the wasteland. You are their unwitting servant.
I am what I am.
Is that what you will tell your family?
Let’s Get As Far Away As Colorado
Flashback: cheers with Barb.
After this, I say we go to Bakersfield.
After this, I say we go out as far as Colorado
The Ghoul
Coop!
Henry.
You make for one heck of a wingman. Cooper chuckles.
Steph: Hello again. We talked all night and at 4 in the morning, this little romantic proposed. Barb hides a look.
She has a truly unbelievable resume. I’m sure we can find a job for her.
Maybe (Barb) and congratulations to you both.
Coop: Congratulations.
They leave as Coop and Barb drink.
Frank Sinatra, Under my skin
Is it just me or did we come out of Vegas a couple of winners? Barb. The phones all ring as they walk.
Back to the ghoul walking
Miniaturization. The Wave of the Future
Lucy: What’s your endgame with all of this?
Miniaturization. The wave of the future. Soon, we won’t know who’s automated and who isn’t. You’ll just have a little scar. One of the roughs enters. And after that, you’ll be my little girl again. *He’s a monster.”
You’re insane.
You don’t mean that. And, if you do. Pretty soon, you won’t.
She blasts the rough with a crowbar. He starts to choke her.
Horn blares as the Ghoul approaches a door. He’s at the building.
Your family’s cryochambers are on subfloor seven.
Wither Max?
| Max is in bad shape. They’re still taking bets. The Deathclaw attacks. You know if he loses, we’re all dead, right? I’m still on for 20. Max stabs the Deathclaw and charges. Come on! A gunshot rings out. Thad on the roof holding the gun with his foot. Thank you Thaddeus! The Deathclaw attacks again. Thad: I gotta reload. Oh boy, this could end poorly for Max. Fade to black |
What Say You, Vaultie?
Hank approaches Lucy who is struggling. We can start over, Lucy. The Ghoul to the rescue! Knifes the dude in the head and shoots Hank in the butt. “If it was up to me, it wouldn’t be your ass bleeding out all over the floor. But it ain’t up to me.” Kicks the gun over to Lucy. She picks it up. “What say you, Vaultie?” Tips his cap and leaves. She looks at the gun. Hank thinks she just might do it. She looks at the mechanical man gun.
We Got It From Here
Max’s armor is majorly malfunctioning. He flashes back to his dad. You’re a good boy, Max. One Day you will be a good man. Max crawls out of the armor. Thad” Max, No. The Deathclaw smells a victory. Max picks up a roulette wheel as a shield and a cue as a spear. Takes a fighting stance. He’s just a damn kid? Dude grabs a gun C’mon, let’s take back our town! I’m not doing that. The Deathclaw tries to scare Max. Thad is still reloading. The Deathclaw charges. Get’s shot. Thad? Naw, he points. WHAT?! NCR RANGER?! Kills another one. Whistle blows. The NCR marches in. Oh, hell, yeah. Ten-hut! We got it from here. Yeah, that’s probably a good idea.
I Love You, Sugarbomb
Lucy is leading Hank out of the hotel. She got him with the device and is holding a remote.
You don’t get views like this in the vault.
You know I spent my whole life wondering what it would be like to come to the surface one day.
I just wanted to make this all worthy of you. I was looking forward to going back to the vault. Getting to see everyone again. Norm. Betty. Stephanie. Oh, boy. Stephanie. But, we’re not going back, are we?
Guess the surface changes a person.
The Legion is coming. They’ll massacre everyone here. You know that. Lucy? With my help, you could stop them.
I need you to tell me what you were really doing here.
And then? She hovers over the button.
Then I’m going to turn you into the father I thought you were. You lied to me my whole life.
I know that’s how you feel. You think this is the real world. The surface is the experiment. Not the vaults.
What experiment.
I’ve already sent my R&D out to the Wasteland. Their boxes are the ltest model, too. Unbenownst to everyone, they’re following orders given to them. Decades ago.
Orders to do what. What did you tell them to do?
I love you, Sugarbomb. He presses the button.
No! Dad. Dad. No…She hugs him and starts to cry. He blinks and looks around.
Miss? Miss. You have a little smudge on the side. May I? She nods. He cleans her face. There. Good as new.
Yeah. She cries. He stares off blankly. She stands. She walks away. Looks back. Looks around.
Max: Lucy? The reunion again. They walk towards each other. She smiles. He smiles. They embrace. You can still have happily ever after.
Phase 2
Stephanie in the office as they demand she open the door. Chet smiles and joins in. She pulls out the box and opens. it. She’s pissed. There’s a pip boy inside. She puts it on. Let this be a strong message to management. Death to management.
This is Stephanie Harper. Hank McLean’s wife. I don’t know how this works. But he said you were always listening. If you can hear this. Initiate phase 2. I repeat. This is Stephanie Harper. Hank McLean’s wife. Initiate Phase 2. I repeat. Initiate Phase 2. There are the other messages, too. The Enclave is ready for Phase 2, whatever the hell that is.
Let’s Get You Home
Norm crawls out to see if there’s any survivors in the carnage. Doesn’t look good. Missing limbs, dead people everywhere. Oh, Claudia is moving. How did she sruvive? Oh, she stabbed it with a screwdriver. “Okay, let’s get you home.” Norm pulls her along on a stretcher.
Colorado Was A Good Idea
House: If your family is here, I will be happy for you. But what is your plan. How will you protect them. If the enclave is out there as I warn you, how will you keep them safe? (not sure if that’s the exact quote)
House (on phone): I want you to know it wasn’t me. What wasn’t you? Whatever it is that’s about to happen. I told you. There are far worse people than I, Mr. Howard. I commend you for playing the hero, I really do. The scene where he hands off the diode. Barb approaches.
The Ghoul made it to the cryochambers. Barbara and Janey Howard. He sighs. Shall I open them, Mr. Howard? Open it.
The anticipation is killing him. Nobody in there. House: What a shame. You bet on hope, Mr. Howard. And you lost. They arrest him in the past for being un-American. Barb is crying. Ghoul approaches the chamber and falls to his knees. House: You’ve been searching al lthis time. The Ghoul notices something. A post card from Colorado! It reads: Colorado was a good idea. You’re still living in a world of fiction. A world that isn’t real. You’re wrong about that. I don’t see how.
Cooper: Act surprised. Let me take the fall. Coop. I acted alone. You didn’t know anyting. Don’t admit to this. Don’t admit to anything. For her. His final words to Barbara. They kiss and he’s taken over.
Ghoul: For the first time in 200 long ass years, I know my family’s alive. He takes House off. What are you doing? The enclave is still out there. We still have business. Not with me, you don’t.
There’s Gonna Be A War and It’s All My Fault
The Legion is marching on Vegas. Max and Lucy are in House’s office. Signal Lost on the monitor. They go down the stairs. The approach the window and see The Legion
I could have prevented this. There’s gonna be a war and it’s all my fault.
Yeah, well. Welcome to the wasteland. They smile and hold hands.
The Ink Spots “This is worth fighting for”
They look again out the window. The monitor glitches and House shows up briefly before going back to signal lost.
The Ghoul is looking at the mountains. He walks into the distance.
END SEASON.
