Time to finally finish The Poppy War Trilogy. The Burning God Episode 1 covers a great deal of topics in the context of the book. After giving a summary from Super Summary, I frame my discussion around six quotes that I’ve made at various points in my life. Those quotes involve the nature of fascism, power, money, society and civilization, history and who tells that story, and maybe how we can fight against everything that’s happening in the U.S. right now.
Part of the problem is that not many of us have had to deal with these issues first hand before. We’ve seen them happen to other people and heard about it in history class. But, when the fascism is staring you right in the face, how can you fight back? How much is too much and when do you know if you’ve crossed that line? None of these questions have easy answers. But, it’s worth thinking about and discussing, at least.
Give it a listen and let me know what you think. What did I do right? What can be improved? I want to make this work and take constructive criticism well. With no additional delay, download and listen to The Burning God Episode 1. I can’t wait to hear what you think.
